If you want to download books to your computer you will need to download Adobe Digital Editions and create your own Adobe user account. If you want to download to a smart phone or tablet you will need to download Bluefire Reader or another reader that supports Adobe Digital Editions.
You always have to log in with your GU account to access e-books from Ebook Central, even if you are within the University of Gothenburg network.
