ERIC

The ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to provide extensive access to educational-related literature. The ERIC database corresponds to two printed journals: Resources in Education (RIE) and Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE). Start year 1966.

ERIC is affected by US federal government cuts. The latest news is that the database will continue, but with a reduced budget, which also means that the number of indexed sources will be reduced.

The ProQuest Education Research Index is a new resource developed in direct response to uncertainty around the future scope of ERIC.This index actively covers 75% of the journal titles covered by ERIC at its peak (including 75% of the titles recently dropped) with the intention of increasing coverage over time so that if titles are dropped from ERIC over time, the majority would continue to be covered by the index. The idea is that this index would be searched alongside ERIC since ERIC will still have content that the supplement might not such as a deeper backfile and grey literature. See the title list here.

Accessible to students and employees at the University of Gothenburg. Accessible to anyone using the libraries’ computers.
